All Creatures Great and Small

The county of Yorkshire plays host to such amazing television series as ‘Last of the Summer Wine’, ‘Happy Valley’ and ‘Downton Abbey’.

‘All Creatures Great and Small’, is the latest series to be filmed across a range of locations in the Dales, including the beautiful and historic market town of Grassington, which plays a central role in the drama as 'Darrowby' Village. Here at Grassington House, we could not be prouder to host the cast occasionally and it is super exciting to announce that Channel Five have commissioned series 3 and 4!

For those amongst you that are spotting other famous Yorkshire landmarks, the stately home that features as Mrs Pumphrey's house is Broughton Hall in the nearby town of Skipton, home to the Tempest family since 1097. In addition to that, Yockenthwaite Farm in Langstrothdale, near Hawes was filmed for character Helen's farm ‘Heston Grange’ exterior and a set was built for the interior in the studio in Summerbridge in Nidderdale.

Watch out for programmes and films that are being released in the near future, shot in our amazing county is the 2021 remake of The Railway Children’, this was in and around Keighley! But not surprising really as the original in 1970 was also shot on the Worth Valley Railway and the family house was in fact the infamous Bronte Parsonage in Haworth!
